MacMinute reader Devin Allen sent in some details about an upcoming Apple Store in Walnut Creek, California: “The Walnut Creek Apple Store is still under construction, in between Tiffany & Co. jewelers and Pottery Barn-Kids, both of which are open. The store is at 1129 S. Main St., in an area of new downtown retail development. The store will apparently be similar to the Emeryville (Calif.) store — there is a second-story opening in the facade which appears to be where the back-lit Apple logo will go.

IDIot 1.0 creates Internet-enabled disk images

If Then Software has released IDIot 1.0, a new utility targeted at developers and those who distribute Mac OS X software electronically over the Web. It creates an Internet-enabled disk image (IDI) that “cleans up” after itself leaving behind only the desired software and nothing else related to the download process. “Convert existing read-only disk images to the new internet disk image format, or disable the feature from current Internet disk images.
