Adobe Q2 profit, revenue rise on strong Acrobat sales

Adobe said on Thursday that its second quarter profit rose as revenues were helped by strong sales of Acrobat 6, the new version of its popular Portable Document Format (PDF) software. The company earned US$64.2 million in the second quarter, or 27 cents per diluted share, up from $54.3 million, or 22 cents, in the same period a year ago. Adobe also grew revenue to $320.1 million from $317.4 million last year. Excluding certain items, Adobe said it earned $66.7 million, or 28 cents per share.
