As first reported by MacInTouch, Casady & Greene will officially cease business as of this Thursday. The company has been publishing software titles such as Conflict Catcher, iData Pro, Spell Catcher, and more since 1984. “With computers coming out loaded with software the way they are, people don’t seem to think they need extras,” Bonnie Mitchell of C&G told MacCentral.

Omikron Basic 7.5 (Beta) for Mac OS X
The programming language Omikron Basic for Apple PowerMac is now
available as beta version 7.5.
It is now possible to use the control word COMPILER "Carbon"
to compile programs in such a way that they run native under Mac OS X.
However, most programs do not need to be modified to still benefit
from the new functionality. Only the Extension Library and the EasyGem
Library have to be replaced with the latest versions.
IGM notes that the dual 2GHz Power Mac G5 is already the top selling Mac at the online Apple Store. The system, which won’t ship till August, is third on Apple’s Top Sellers list, with iSight and iPod taking the top two spots.
