Stick Software releases PhotoReviewer 1.0

Stick Software has announced the release of PhotoReviewer 1.0, a photo management tool for Mac OS X. PhotoReviewer allows users to quickly flip though photos that have imported to their machine, choosing which ones are “keepers” and which ones aren’t. Users can then sort their images into different folders, find and delete duplicates, and rename the images to fit the category they are placed in. PhotoReviewer is US$10 shareware.

Apple shows off ‘Panther’ at Australian conference

Apple this week demonstrated the next version of Mac OS X (10.3 – “Panther”) at the SAGE-AU (System Administrators Guild of Australia) conference, as noted by Computerworld. “In the past Apple has often done its own thing,” said Joseph Cox, Apple systems engineer, in the report. “Now we are moving embracing both open source and open standards to ensure interoperability between systems.”

M-Audio offers USB audio device for mobile users

M-Audio has announced the Transit USB, a pocket-sized device that brings 24-bit/96kHz recording and playback to any USB-equipped computer. Targeted at laptop users, the Transit USB offers a 1/8″ stereo analog/optical digital input and TOSlink optical digital output, which allow for a variety of functions including recording from stereo mics and transferring audio between a Mac and other digital devices such as MiniDisc and DAT.
