Adobe announces winners of Design Achievement Awards

Adobe today announced the winners of the third annual Adobe Design Achievement Awards, a program that recognizes the most talented and promising students of graphic design, illustration, digital film and computer art from leading design schools. Macworld Expo may not move to Boston after all

In an article for the Boston Herald this morning, Scott Van Voorhis writes that Macworld Expo’s planned return to Boston next year may not happen after all. According to the article, David Korse, the new head of IDG World Expo (organizers of the show), has “launched an in-depth study on the merits of New York vs. Boston.” In fact, IDG has already canceled a block of hotel rooms previously booked for the Expo period.

dvGarage releases dvMatte Pro

dvGarage today announced the release of dvMatte Pro, an After Effects plug-in designed to handle the challenges of DV footage by softening the scaled color channels while utilizing the unscaled luminance channel to regain the detail in the edges. dvMatte Pro is available for Mac and PC versions of Adobe After Effects 5.5 and 6.0. The company says that a version for Final Cut Pro 4 will be available this Fall. dvMatte Pro is priced at US$149, with an early-bird special price of $99 until August 15, 2003.
