Digital Thought Software today announced the release of fxStabilizer, a US$34.95 iMovie plug-in that was developed to stabilize or smooth the shakiness associated with hand-held cameras. “Using complex mathematical equations and analysis, each frame of an iMovie clip is analyzed as part of the entire scene to determine the smoothest path in which to move or rotate the frame,” says the company. “Using a two pass technique, the optimal path is derived and applied to each frame in turn, providing a shockingly smooth result, virtually eliminating the shake and roll associated with hand held camera filming even during panning, rotation or zooming.”
