LaCie has now released a Mac OS X version of the firmware update for its d2 FireWire 800 and Big Disk FireWire 800 hard drives that offers Mac OS X 10.3 Panther compatibility. Previously, LaCie had only released a Mac OS 9 version. Other companies, including Other World Computing, Wiebetech, FirewireDirect and EZQuest have made updaters available for their FireWire 800 products designed to resolve compatibility issues discovered with Panther.
