MacMinute reader Greg Fiumara let us know that Hecht’s department stores now carry Apple’s iPod: “The back of the front section of the Washington Post today (Monday) has a big ad that reads ‘New@Hecht’s DVD Players / Ask about our portable and home theater dvd players plus the apple iPod and digital cameras.’ It then shows a 20GB iPod and below the JBL Creature Speakers. In the small print at the bottom ‘Hecht’s is an authorized Apple reseller.’ It also says ‘Interactive Displays and Savvy Tech Experts are available at these locations’ and lists the many locations in the metro DC area including Tysons Corner where there is an Apple Store… Apple reps and clothes in the same store?” MacMinute noted last month that Robinsons May stores were now carrying the iPod. Update: Mark Allred informed us that Filene’s stores are also selling the iPod.
