Microsoft on Tuesday will drop the price of Office v.X by US$100, to $399, and add two new versions of the popular business suite, as anticipated last month. The company plans to introduce a “professional” version of Office v.X that sells for $499 and includes Virtual PC, which Microsoft acquired from Connectix earlier this year. Microsoft will also introduce a student and teacher version of Mac Office, which includes all the standard Office programs — Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Entourage — for $149.
