In a column posted today on Wired, Leader Kahney looks at Apple’s Cube computer, which was first introduced in July 2000 and discontinued a year later due to poor sales. The biggest complaints on the super-stylish Cube was the expensive price and limited upgradeability, but nevertheless, it has a dedicated following of fans and still achieves top dollars on eBay. “Like a pop star killed tragically young, Apple’s distinctive Cube computer has achieved exalted status in death (or the afterlife),” writes Kahney.
