Apple received two awards in this year’s Industrial Design Excellence Awards (IDEA), which honored companies that “use design to push traditional brands into new markets, extend well-known brands into new products, and invent something totally new, cool, and useful.” Apple picked up a Gold Award for its 12 and 17-inch PowerBooks and a Silver Award for its Xserve.
