SubRosaSoft today announced the immediate availability of CopyCatX 1.0, an easy-to-use utility for duplicating a Mac OS X hard drive. CopyCatX utilizes a method called “device copying” instead of the more common “file-by-file” copy employed by most backup software. Using device copy enables a user to retain every detail of the original drive, from bootability to the icon locations. Device copy is also a lot faster than the traditional file-by-file backup, according to the developer. CopyCatX is priced at US$39.95.
