Canon today unveiled the PowerShot G5, its new flagship 5-megapixel digital camera. It features a 4x all-glass optical zoom lens, 12 EOS System-based shooting modes, a fast maximum aperture of f/2.0-3.0 and macro focusing down to 2 inches, a Direct Connect print function, and a 3-mode built-in flash with red-eye reduction. In addition, the camera comes bundled with a 32MB CompactFlash Card and a new version Canon’s ImageBrowser software for the Mac, which features an enhanced user interface, speed and database file reliability to allow for shorter downloads, increased functionality and easier task navigation. The PowerShot G5 will be available later this month for US$899.
