Aupperle Services and Contracting has released a new version of its Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar) driver for the Imaging Source’s DFG/1394-1 Video-to-FireWire Converter. The v1.0.8 driver allows any QuickTime based video applications to view, record or broadcast full-size, full-frame rate, uncompressed YUV 4:2:2 video. It allows you to adjust the image properties of the video in real time, specify signal type, select from three analog input sources, embeds timecode and allows applications to specify field dominance. The Altivec-enabled driver uses far less CPU cycles for delivering video than DV, supports up to three DFG1394-1 units simultaneously per Mac and is ideal for video conferencing or video broadcasting.
