Bare Bones Software today announced the release and immediate availability of BBEdit 7.0.2, the latest version of the company’s award-winning HTML and text editor for the Mac. Version 7.0.2 includes support for automatic sensing and translation of a file’s text encoding, the ability to control the number of items remembered on the Open Recent menu, new “Text Encodings” and “Unix Scripting” preferences panels, a “Save a Copy” command, and support for Mac OS 9.1, as well as numerous additional interface refinements and fixes for various reported issues.
