Sonnet Technologies today released a new software update for users of its Crescendo/7200 processor upgrade. Version 1.1 expands compatibility to virtually all PCI cards and broadens RAM support, allowing for more diverse configurations between the motherboard and the Crescendo’s on-board RAM, and providing compatibility with more brands and types of RAM. The 1.1 release also drops the motherboard RAM requirement to 8MB, as long as the total installed RAM still meets or exceeds the requirements of the OS. The Crescendo/7200 version 1.1 software update is compatible with all models of Crescendo/7200 G3 and G4.
