Freeverse Software announced today that it is now shipping Payback, the “ultra-violent car-thieving game,” in North America. Published in the United Kingdom by Virtual Programming, and originally developed by Apex Designs, the game features an advanced 3D rendering and physics engine, and “all the fun of automobile thievery and random violence without any of the pesky life-changing consequences.” Payback (US$29.95) is available for Mac OS 9 or Mac OS X and is aimed at mature gamers — it “contains wanton violence, animated gore, explicit language, and narcotrafficking.”
