Apple today objected to a US$1.1 billion antitrust settlement between California and Microsoft, saying the agreement will actually benefit the software giant, reports c|net. Under the terms of the settlement, Microsoft will offer vouchers to California individuals who bought Windows or select applications between Feb. 18, 1995 and Dec. 15, 2001. One-third of any unclaimed rebates will revert to Microsoft. The remaining amount will go to California public schools in the form of cash and Microsoft software.
