The Ricoh Digital Camera Division today announced that its Mac-compatible RDC-i700 digital camera is now able to operate wirelessly in any 802.11b (AirPort) environment, according to MacCentral. The handheld camera can broadcast what it “sees” at 320×240 to a Web browser at 10 frames per second.

C|net reports that Prudential Securities analyst Kimberly Alexy said in a recent research report that she was concerned about Apple’s “ongoing inability to execute product ramps efficiently,” echoing concerns of other analysts over Apple’s problems with meeting demand for its much hyped flat-panel iMac. Alexy and other analysts believe that Apple’s earnings expectations for the second quarter, which ends March 31, will be “extremely tight,” and depend on Apple’s ability to ship a glut of flat-panel iMacs over the next two weeks.

Plaid Banana Entertainment, a new publishing label formed by Disney Interactive, has released two new interactive adventure games for Mac OS X, “Moop & Dreadly in The Treasure on Bing Bong Island,” designed for kids ages six and up, and “Ollo in the Sunny Valley Fair,” designed for kids ages three and up. Both titles are available now for US$19.99 each.

Ambrosia Software has released Escape Velocity: Nova for Mac OS 8/9 and Mac OS X, the highly anticipated “threequel” in its popular interstellar action/role-playing game series. The game features a redesigned graphics engine that features 16-bit graphics, transparencies, hue tinting, thruster and laser “glowing,” and more. Nova offers an all new, expansive universe with a number of major and minor plotlines. Escape Velocity: Nova is available as US$30 shareware.
