PowerLogix today announced the PowerForce G4 550MHz ZIF card, a processor upgrade designed for beige and blue & white G3 Power Macs. The card uses the low-power 7410 chip from Motorola, which draws less power and thus generates less heat. The card operates at 533MHz in the beige G3 and at 550MHz in the blue & white G3. The PowerForce G4 550MHz ZIF card will ship in 2-3 weeks for US$299.
