FireWire Depot has introduced several new products, including a new aluminum 5.25″ FireWire/USB comboenclosure, two new versions of a DUAL channel FireWire PCI card, rack mountFireWire removable enclosures, more configurations of the multi-deviceFireWire enclosure series, and Oxford 911 based bridgeboards.

Adobe today announced FrameMaker 7.0, a new version of its enterprise authoring and publishing solution that will ship in the second quarter of 2002. The company also announced FrameMaker Server, a new product that extracts existing content housed in databases, document management systems, and XML repositories for manipulation in FrameMaker.

Iomega has announced its entry into the consumer hard drive market with the introduction of new external drives featuring USB 2.0 or FireWire connectivity. The portable drive is available in 20GB ($229) and 30GB ($279) FireWire configurations, while the desktop external drive is available in 80GB ($329) and 120GB ($379) capacities.

Apple and Panasonic today issued a joint press release at NAB announcing that the companies are collaborating on two new technologies: adding FireWire to the upcoming Panasonic DVCPRO50 and DVCPRO HD tape decks, as well as bringing future support for Panasonic’s AG-DVX100 24P mini-DV camcorder to Final Cut Pro.

MicroMat has updated Drive 10, its disk utility software for Mac OS X, to version 1.0.5, which includes fixes for the French localization and other bugs.
