Belkin today unveiled its new 4×4 Matrix USB Switch, which allows four USB devices to be shared with four computers. The Matrix USB Switch will officially be announced at NetWorld+Interop in Las Vegas on May 7, and will begin shipping June 1 for U$99. The device offers compatibility with both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X. At press time, Belkin had no information on its site regarding the product.

SkyRocket MultiMedia recently released Digital FireworX, an entertaining application for creating fully rendered simulated fireworks, complete with 3D particle animations and digitized sounds. The software allows users to fire off fountains, gerbs, cones, firecrackers, mortors, and rockets from the convenience of their Mac. Each fireworks effect has been painstakingly rendered and polished, and the application itself represents 10 years of development and evolution. Digital FireworX is provided as US$15 shareware.

Micronet announced Monday Mac OS X-compatible configurations of its SANcube, a FireWire storage area network device. Mac OS X compatibility is limited to single attached systems at this time, which are available in capacities up to 720GB in both SANcube (up to 33MB/sec throughput) and SANcube X-stream (up to 65MB/sec throughput) configurations.

Modeless Software today announced the release of LiquidLedger 1.0.1, an update to its comprehensive personal finance solution developed exclusively for Mac OS X. The new version includes improved support for sorting accounts and transactions as well as minor bug fixes. Additionally, a demo of LiquidLedger, which is billed as an alternative to Quicken, is now available for download.
