Micronet announced Monday Mac OS X-compatible configurations of its SANcube, a FireWire storage area network device. Mac OS X compatibility is limited to single attached systems at this time, which are available in capacities up to 720GB in both SANcube (up to 33MB/sec throughput) and SANcube X-stream (up to 65MB/sec throughput) configurations. Updated (12:45) – MicroNet has informed us that Mac OS X support multiple-systems (2-4) is expected to arrive in September. Current SANcube owners can send their units to MicroNet to receive the Mac OS X upgrade for US$269.
