Following console price cuts by Microsoft and Sony last week, Nintendo announced today that it will be reducing the price of its GameCube to US$149 in the U.S. effective tomorrow, according to Reuters. The $50 reduction is intended to ensure that the company maintains its price advantage over competitors.

Apple’s Bluetooth adapter, which was due to start shipping in early April, has been postponed indefinitely, according to MacUser UK. While neither Apple nor D-Link, which manufactures the adapter, would comment on the delay, a parts shortage coupled with manufacturing problems are reportedly to blame.

Adobe has begun shipping FrameMaker 7.0, the newest version of its enterprise-class authoring and publishing solution. FrameMaker 7.0 is compatible only with Mac OS 9.x, although it runs in Classic on Mac OS X, and sells for US$799. Upgrades are $209 through August 22, and $349 thereafter.

Apple updated its line of iBooks today, speeding the PowerPC G3 processor to 700MHz, doubling the L2 cache to 512K, upgrading the graphics processor to a 16MB ATI Radeon Mobility, and increasing hard drive capacity. The iBook also features a video-out port that supports VGA output, as well as S-video and composite video with an optional adapter.
