Microsoft announced today the release of Office v.X Service Release 1, an update that features more than 1,000 bug fixes and performance enhancements (major ones are detailed here). Microsoft also said it will be releasing a Palm conduit for Entourage on July 15.

Marcadesign has released Ciboulette 1.5, the latest version of its file encryption software. Compatible with Mac OS 8.6 and later, Mac OS X, and Windows, Ciboulette employs 448-bit encryption to protect files. The software can also compress data once encrypted, write comments inside of encrypted files, offers a safe-delete function, and more. Version 1.5 is five times faster than its predecessors, features two encryption algorithms, and other improvements. Ciboulette is US$10 (€10) shareware.

Karelia Software today announced the availability of six pieces of merchandise featuring the Watson logo from the company’s popular Mac OS X application. A flying disc, T-shirt, long-sleeve T-shirt, large mug, BBQ apron, and tote bag are all for sale. Karelia says it will donate all proceeds from the sales to charity.
