Apple has posted a QuickTime 5 reinstaller for Mac OS X, which will remove QuickTime 6 Public Preview and restore QuickTime 5 to the user’s system. In addition, the company has made available a number of Mac OS X language support updates, which will install the additional fonts and resources needed to use Mac OS X in languages other than those currently installed.

Aspyr has posted an update to their popular first person shooter, Return to Castle Wolfenstein 1.3.2, as noted by VersionTracker. Version 1.3.2 offers support for a new moving object (the tram), a new map (Tram assault), and ATI Truform.

Apple has posted a standalone version of Mac OS X Update 10.1.5, see related story, to their Web site. Previously, the update was only available via Mac OS X’s Software Update utility. Apple notes that this updater “can be used only to update from Mac OS X 10.1.3 or Mac OS X 10.1.4.

Unsanity has released Silk 1.0, a haxie which enables the Quartz text rendering and smoothing introduced in Mac OS X 10.1.5 to work in all Carbon applications, including Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla and more. Silk is implemented as an easy-to-use preference pane and is completely free.
