CMS Peripherals today announced the availability of a new 160GB capacity Automatic Backup System Plus (ABSplus) for Desktops on Mac OS Classic and Mac OS X. ABSplus is a backup solution with full recovery, designed for use with desktops and servers, and is compatible with any FireWire machine. The new 160GB capacity ABSplus for Desktops sells for US$599.

Apple has posted Repair Privileges Utility 1.0, which will restore the privileges (or “permissions”) of Mac OS X system files and Apple-installed software to their default configuration, as noted by VersionTracker. Mac OS X 10.1.5 is required for this utility to function.

M-Systems today announced a 512MB version of its DiskOnKey USB personal storage device, which carries a US$499.99 price tag. Other models start with 8MB for $29.99 and range up to 256MB for $249.99.

Lexmark announced the PrinTrio today, an inkjet printer that also features scanning and copying capabilities. Features include a 2400×1200 dpi print resolution, 600×1200 dpi scan resolution, and print speeds of up to 11 pages per minute for black and six pages per minute for color. The PrinTrio is available now for US$149.

Hitatchi today introduced the CML152, the latest addition to its value line of LCD displays. The 15-inch display features a 1024×768 resolution, 350:1 contrast ratio, and 250 nit brightness in a 6.6 pound package. The CML152 will begin shipping in July for a US$449 in ivory and $459 in black.
