RealNetworks has announced a beta version of RealOne, the company’s new Real player for Mac OS X. Real claims this is its most advanced player, offering features such as TurboPlay, which they say practically eliminates buffering over high-speed connections, and more. Power On Software has announced today the formation of a new division: Now Software, which will focus exclusively on scheduling and contact management solutions. The new division will also be spearheading the release of Now Up-to-Date & Contact for Windows, which is scheduled to ship later this year.

Tenon has announced that it will be offering a host of online specials for the next three days only. Tenon is selling pre-configured Xserve boxes with iTools 6.5.4 and Post.Office 3.5.3, or customers can purchase iTools or Post.Office at “trade-show prices” of US$249 and $245, respectively. Tenon is not attending Macworld Expo.

4D today announced 4D WebSTAR 5.2, an update to its Mac OS X server suite software, which now includes a new Mail server. Version 5.2 offers secure remote administration, support for multiple domains, and new security features, including anti-spam and anti-virus support. WebSTAR 5.2 will ship in September.

CMS Peripherals today announced a new bootable version of the ABSplus for Mac OS X, the first backup device for Mac OS X with system bootability. The ABSplus is now shock-mounted for better durability, and will be available in August in capacities of 40GB, 60GB, 80GB, 120GB and 160GB, with prices starting at US$299.
