Discreet today announced Cleaner 6, which will be ship this fall. The streaming media software will be optimized for Mac OS X, offering several performance enhancements to make streaming media encoding faster. This release will also support Apple’s QuickTime 6 and MPEG-4. Cleaner 6 will be available this fall for US$599, and $179 for an upgrade.

Apple today released iDVD 2.1, an update to the company’s popular DVD burning software. Version 2.1 adds DVD-ROM data support, AppleScript support, enhancements to the burning process, and general performance improvements. Aspyr today announced Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon and Desert Siege Expansion Pack, for the Mac, with i5works doing the conversion. The popular combat game is priced at US$49.95, and can be pre-ordered now from Aspyr’s site.

eZedia previewed eZediaQTI, a cross-platform QuickTime authoring and animation program, at Macworld Expo today. eZediaQTI can combine and enhance video, graphics, animation, sound, VRs and text to rapidly develop web sites, internet banner ads, interactive videos and online presentations. eZediaQTI is priced at US$129, and will be available this fall for Mac OS X and Windows 2000 and XP.

Audible officially announced today that audible.com, its spoken audio service, is now available on Apple’s iTunes and iPod. Audible.com features audio editions of books, newspapers, magazines, radio programs and original shows. Users can download audio for desktop playback, CD burning, or transfer to their iPod.
