The BoardRoom 2.1, a FileMaker Pro 5/6 solution that provides an instant messaging environment for up to 250 simultaneous users, is now available. The BoardRoom offers features such as audio and visual notification of incoming messages, quoted text in replies, automated time stamping of all deliveries and receipts, and broadcast messaging. Version 2.1, which is a free upgrade to all users of version 2.0, fixes some bugs and adds an administrator’s screen to manage the list of users.

Student DV film festival in San Fernando

The San Fernando Education Technology Team (SFETT) will have their third annual short film festival on August 3, 2000 at The House of Brews Library Plaza in sunny San Fernando, California. The festival will showcase movies high school students have created in the past year using tools such as Final Cut Pro, iMovie, After Effects, Combustion 2, Cinema4D, Maya, and Sorenson Squeeze. Palm set to trim handheld prices

Palm will cut the prices of five of its six handhelds by up to 34 percent on Thursday, c|net reports. The m105 will be reduced from US$149 to $99, the m125 from $179 to $169, the m130 from $279 to $249, the m500 from $299 to $199, and the i705 from $449 to $399. The m515 will remain at $399. Palm said the price cuts are not an attempt to clear out inventory, but merely a way to spur sales during what is traditionally a slow seasonal buying time.
