Handspring has launched a new holiday promotion that offers a US$150 mail-in rebate on its Treo 180 communicators. “Now, for a limited time, when you activate a new T-mobile service plan with select T-mobile Internet (GPRS) services, you’ll receive a Treo 180 communicator for as low as $99 after mail-in rebate.” Customers not interested in GPRS data service can get a $50 mail-in rebate with activation of a new Cingular Wireless or T-Mobile service plan.

Mac Design Conference coming in May

Mac Design magazine today announced the Mac Design Conference, which will take place at Chicago’s Rosemont Convention Center on May 28-30, 2003. The three day event will feature more than 40 sessions of real-world training in Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Flash, InDesign, After Effects, QuarkXPress, Mac OS X, and Final Cut Pro. Chaotic Software today released MP3 Rage 5.4, the latest version of its popular MP3 tag editor application. The update includes several improvements and bug fixes. MP3 Rage (US$24.95) is available for Mac OS 9 or higher and Mac OS X. Chaotic Software today also released Vorbis Rage 1.0, a collection of tools for Ogg Vorbis enthusiasts running Mac OS X.
