Cinematic 2.0 for iMovie now available

Virtix today announced the availability of Cinematic 2.0 for iMovie, a free update to the collection of transitions that allow the user to gently wipe from one scene to the next in their films. Version 2.0 contains five new transfer modes, nearly doubling the number of possible transition looks — the 29 transitions in version 1.0 are included. New options in this release are Burn Through, Fog, Smoke, Sparkles, and Stained Glass.

GameRanger adds Creature Isle to multiplayer lineup

Scott Kevill today announced the addition of a new game title to the GameRanger online gaming service. In addition to the 110 previous titles, gamers can now play Black and White: Creature Isle. Other game titles in the service’s lineup include Ghost Recon, Heroes of Might and Magic IV, Jedi Knight II, Links CE 2002, Risk II, Scrabble, Stronghold, and Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds.

IOXperts today announced the release of USB WebCam Driver 1.0 for Mac OS X. The software gives Mac users “full-speed access to dozens of USB video cameras, either available only for the PC or not supported by their vendors on Mac OS X.” USB WebCam Driver 1.0 (US$19.95) supports more than 30 USB webcams, including many of the most popular models from Logitech and Philips. Formac updates DVD authoring software

Formac today announced the second release of the DVD authoring software for the company’s devideon DVD-R drive. The update brings chaptering, DVD menu design, parallel encoding, and features a new recording mode that allows users to burn their movies as a Super Video CD. The software is compatible with Mac OS 9 or higher and Mac OS X, and is now shipping with Formac’s devideon drive (US$399).
