Fonts.com adds Cool Fonts and T.26 font collections

Agfa Monotype has released the Cool Fonts and T.26 font collections on Fonts.com, adding nearly 1,800 font products to the site. The Cool Fonts collection contains 27 fonts, six typeface families and one font package called Grunge Pack. Many of the collection’s stylistically intense designs are described by Cool Fonts as “grungy.” Individual fonts can be purchased for US$24. T.26 is now Fonts.com’s largest collection available for download.

Alarm Clock Pro 6.1 released

Koingo Software today released Alarm Clock Pro 6.1, the latest version of the company’s multimedia alarm clock and reminder utility. The update adds the ability to wake your Mac from sleep after a specified duration. “You can now put your Mac to sleep, and tell it to wake up just before an alarm is going to ring. This way, you won’t have to leave your machine on all night long.” The update is free if you have purchased Alarm Clock Pro within the last six months, otherwise it is a US$5 upgrade.

Microsoft appoints new Macintosh Business Unit general manager

Microsoft today announced that Roz Ho has been named general manager of its Macintosh Business Unit (MacBU). Ho is an 11-year Microsoft veteran. She spent the past three years as the product unit manager leading the MacBU’s Silicon Valley team. She will be responsible for the strategic vision and direction for all Microsoft software and online products developed by the MacBU, and manage Microsoft’s business relationship with Apple.
