Pixar, the award-winning animation studio headed by Apple CEO Steve Jobs, announced today that it will become a component of the Nasdaq 100 Index, effective at the beginning of trading Monday, December 23, 2002. The Nasdaq 100 Index is composed of the 100 largest non-financial stocks listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market based on market capitalization. The addition of Pixar to the index gives Steve Jobs the unique distinction of being the only chief executive having two companies in the Nasdaq 100. “We are thrilled to join the Nasdaq 100,” said Jobs. “This is an important milestone in Pixar’s 16 year history, and reflects the talent, hard work and dedication of our entire team.”
