Macromedia today posted Dreamweaver MX 6.1, an update to its popular Web site creation software. Version 6.1 includes performance improvements and addresses several outstanding issues discovered since the release of Dreamweaver MX, all of which are detailed here. The update also enables collaboration with Macromedia Contribute, which was announced last month. Contribute allows users to “easily update, add, and publish web content to existing websites without requiring technical skills beyond basic word processing,” according to the company. However, a Mac OS X version is not expected to ship until next year.
