AOL UK has announced that it has ceased development on a version of its software for Mac OS X, according to The Register. The decision was caused by the existing beta Mac OS X version breaking with the release of Mac OS X 10.1, according to AOL UK sources. In addition, the company currently has no plans to release updated versions of the software for OS 8/9, as it focuses its development efforts on Windows. Meanwhile, America Online continues to release frequent updates to its Mac OS X beta program, although Mac development continues to lag behind its Windows counterpart.
