Boston mayor Thomas Menino and an IDG World Expo spokeswoman both said yesterday that the return of Macworld Expo to Boston is virtually a done deal, reports the Boston Globe. ”There’s still some T’s being crossed and I’s being dotted,” said IDG World Expo spokeswoman Brooke Selby. But she confirmed that the city will be holding a news conference on October 17 to announce that the show will be moving back to Boston in July 2004. ”We are in the final stage of ironing out the details that would bring Macworld back to Boston,” Menino said in a statement yesterday. ”I’m very excited about an announcement we will make on October 17 around this most important national convention.”
