Okito Software today announced that Okito Composer, its word processor for Mac OS X, will be available in a “Lite” version this fall, geared toward users who don’t need the features or price of a high-end word processor. Composer Lite offers featuers such as headers and footers, multiple sections, and columns, and will be priced at US$29. In addition to offering a Lite version, the company will also offer Pro and Free versions. The Pro version ($79) includes added features for working with complex and long documents, while the Free version is billed as a TextEdit alternative with better writing tools and the ability to open more documents. All three versions will support the Microsoft Word format as a free upgrade down the road. A public preview is available now from Okito’s site.
