Mac upgrade and peripheral maker XLR8, Inc. has shut down, according to a note on its home page. “XLR8, Inc. has closed its doors and is no longer in business. There is no technical or warranty support available. We apologize for any inconvenience,” the note reads. XLR8 had just introduced version 2.1 of InterView USB video capture solution in July, as well as a dual-550MHz PowerPC G4 upgrade. The company was also on hand at Macworld Expo New York last month. XLR8’s parent company, Interex, was acquired by power protection equipment maker Tripp Lite in April 2000. Interex and Tripp Lite remain in business. Representatives from XLR8 were not immediately available for comment.
