Veteran IT consultant and author Paul Murphy has written an interesting piece for LinuxWorld titled “Why you should take a Mac user to lunch.” As noted by Slashdot, the recent article illustrates the important role that Mac users and Apple’s Xserve have to offer to the Unix/Linux community. “Xserve demonstrates both the cost advantage of the open-source model and the network advantages of Unix to a far wider audience than we’ve ever had before… [Mac users] are the guys to have on our side because they demonstrate that computers can be used in quiet, effective ways that contribute to the organization and don’t require inordinate amounts of support.”
