As the telecommunications industry continues to falter, broadband connectivity across traditional power lines is beginning to gain momentum, according to The Washington Post. While the task of moving data through electrical lines is challenging, results so far from companies working in the field show speeds comparable to or greater than cable modem and DSL connections. Additionally, virtually anyone who has electricity would be eligible for the service.
