Aladdin Systems today released Secure Delete, a utility for deleting files beyond recovery, as a stand-alone application. Secure Delete is compatible with Mac OS 8.1 and later, including Mac OS X, and sells for US$25. Secure Delete is also included as part of StuffIt Deluxe, the company’s robust file compression suite, which sells for $79.95. (ShredIt, from Mireth Technology, is a similar utility to Secure Delete and sells for $19.95.)
