Sony today introduced two new Mini DV camcorders: the DCR-PC101, the company’s smallest camcorder to date, and the DCR-TRV950, the first three megapixel-CCD camcorder targeted at “prosumers.” The PC101, which Sony describes as the size of a paperback book, features a 2.5-inch LCD display, Carl Zeiss lens, USB streaming, Super SteadyShot, and a 10x optical and 120x digital zoom. The camcorder will ship in June for about US$1,300. The TRV950 boasts a number of manual controls, 14-bit DXP, Hologram AF laser focusing technology, touch-panel 3.5-inch LCD, and 12x optical and 150x digital zoom. The TRV950 will also ship in June for about $2,500.
