iHam on iRye version 1.0
iHam on iRye is a set of three applications used to control iTunes over a
LAN or WAN network. With iHam on iRye, you can control nearly every aspect
of iTunes running on one Macintosh from any other Macintosh on your
network. It is mainly intended to be used in conjunction with an MP3 server
type situation, where a Macintosh is dedicated to running iTunes. While
this application can be used over the Internet, it works best when used on
a LAN network, or at least an Internet connection with broadband. Dial up
modems are not recommended (or supported). iHam on iRye iServer runs best
under Mac OS X. Under classic, there seem to be some issues. For one, it
crashes periodically when choosing a new song from the playlist. I am
beginning to think this is an iTunes bug, but at this point, I am not
exactly sure what is going on.
