Rewind 1.2 now available

Power On Software has released Rewind 1.2, an update to the company’s disk utility. This release adds control over the size of the Rewind archive; use of the Finder’s Put Away command to restore items top their correct location; correct handling of Virtual PC volumes; and the ability to restore open files. Rewind is a US$89.95 ($99.95 for CD) utility that records changes to your hard drive, allowing you to easily revert back to a previous state if you experience file corruption or a loss of data.

Dell on Apple and education

Bill Rodrigues, General Manager of Education at Dell, recently spoke with News.com about the education market and how it feels to have Steve Jobs in his rearview mirror. When asked about the iBook, Rodrigues said, “the thing I find interesting is that when (Apple CEO Steve) Jobs says this will get them back into a leadership position in education, I don’t know what that means. Roughly 14 percent of education market (dollars) is spent on notebooks.
