VersionTracker notes the release of Grammarian 2.1.4, Casady & Greene’s interactive grammar checker. This version offers improved support for Adobe Illustrator (versions 8 & 9), FrameMaker 5, and BBEdit 6.1.2, a new Grammarian 2 engine and improved ease of use when switching from Mac OS 9 and Classic Layer of OS X.

DreamCatcher Interactive has announced that it will publish a new 3D hovercraft racing game, Fuel, for the Mac, according to MacCentral. The game, in development at Firetoad Software, features both single- and multi-player gameplay and has an optional rendering engine that takes full advantage of NVIDIA’s GeForce3, which provides custom vertex and pixel shader effects that result in more realistic imagery. Fuel is scheduled to be released in Fall 2002.

Brother has updated its Mac OS X Support page with new drivers for some of its printers, as noted by VersionTracker. The list has also been updated to reflect for which devices drivers are in development for.

ExtremeTech has published an article that explains how to connect a Mac running either Mac OS 9.1 or OS X to a PC network to share an Internet connection. The article covers both Ethernet and 802.11b (AirPort) connections.

Infoworld recently published a review of Mac OS X Server, awarding the software a 6 out of 10 rating. The magazine’s primary gripe with the operating system was not with the software itself, but rather with Apple’s limiting Power Mac G4 Server hardware, which severely limits the functionality of the OS in anything larger than a small-to-medium sized environment.
