America Online has surpassed 5 million subscribers in Europe, due in large part to its flat-rate plans in the UK, France, and Germany, the company announced today. Meanwhile, Microsoft today announced MSN 7, a new version of its online service for Windows that rivals America Online. MSN is the number-two ISP, with approximately 7 million subscribers, versus AOL’s 30 million.

Trolltech Releases Qt/Mac for Mac OS X
2000/10/15 – Oslo, Norway – With its release of Qt/Mac, Trolltech has added
Apple Macintosh to the list of platforms supported by Qt, an emerging
industry standard in cross-platform software development. Application
developers using Qt can now target Mac OS X with the same ease, as they are
currently targeting Windows, Linux, Unix, and embedded Linux systems.
Olympus today announced the C-3020 Zoom digital camera, a 3.2 megapixel camera with a 3x optical zoom, 2.5x digital zoom, 6-mode flash, and noise reduction system. The camera will ship at the end of the month for US$499 and will come bundled with a 16MB SmartMedia card.
