Apple hosting icon design kitchens

Apple will be hosting Developer Kitchens focusing on icon design and creation for Mac OS X, according to MacCentral. Instruction topics will include tips and tricks in Photoshop, how to model real world materials, and how to create shadows. The kitchens—taking place from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Tuesday, November 13; Tuesday, November 27; and Tuesday, December 11—will be held on the Apple campus in Cupertino, California.

Dealers advised, “Don’t sell iPods before Nov. 10.”

Apple dealers are expected to begin receiving iPod shipments this week, earlier than anticipated, although dealers are being advised not to sell or deliver the product to customers before the official launch date of November 10. Some dealers contacted by MacMinute confirm receiving limited iPod quantities in the past few days, despite being told by Apple that the wait could be three to four weeks. New orders being placed at the Apple Store are being given a 10 day estimated ship time.
