Extensis today released Suitcase 10.1, a new version of its font management utility that adds support for Mac OS X. Suitcase 10.1 allows Mac OS X users to view fonts in all Mac OS X font directories, and activate or de-activate fonts in Cocoa, Carbon and Classic applications. The update is available as a free download to Suitcase 10 users; Suitcase sells for US$99.95.

Lexar Media has announced a 16x 640MB CompactFlash media card that will be available in early December for about US$900. The card supports write speeds of up to 2.4MB/sec, which Lexar claims reduces the time for high megapixel cameras to take photos.

Ricoh yesterday announced the Capilo RR1, a 4-megapixel digital camera with a 3x optical zoom, 3.6x digital zoom, 8MB of built-in memory, and a 64MB SmartMedia card. The Capilo RR1 is available now for US$699.

Apple today announced the second generation of its AirPort technology, which adds support for America Online to the Base Station, a built-in firewall, 128-bit encryption, and support for up to 50 users. Pricing remains the same, at US$99 for the AirPort card and $299 for the Base Station. Apple has also released AirPort Software 2.0, which upgrades all AirPort cards to 128-bit encryption (Base Stations remain at 64-bit). The software can be downloaded via Software Update.

Archos has announced a number of new, Mac-compatible USB 2.0 devices, including a USB 2.0 version of its 16x10x24x MiniCDRW2; Cesar-CDRW/MPM, a compact 8x8x24x CD-RW drive that’s also available in FireWire or PCMCIA interfaces; and the MiniHD, a portable drive available in 6GB, 20GB, and 40GB capacities, also available in FireWire and PCMCIA interfaces. Pricing will be announced next month.
