Microsoft has released Internet Explorer 5.1, a new version of its popular Web browser for OS 8/9. Version 5.1 adds greater control over the application’s user interface, support for NTLM version 2 authentication (in addition to previous support for NTML v1) and general enhancements that provide improved reliability and compatibility. MacMinute’s early use of the software indicates that while it is blazingly fast, changes have been made to how the browser handles Cascading Style Sheets and Table Data, providing spacing and layout similar to the Windows version of Internet Explorer 5.5.
